python-smbpasswd software package provides This module can generate both LANMAN and NT password hashes, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-smbpasswd
python-smbpasswd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-smbpasswd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-smbpasswd *
You will get with python-smbpasswd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
